HUD Equal Access Rule

HUD Equal Access Rule

The Trump administration has announced its latest attack on the transgender community. Its newest focuses on the Equal Access Rule, a key regulation first published in 2012 that ensures shelters and federally-funded housing programs do not discriminate based upon gender identity or sexual orientation.

This rule is vital. 1 in 3 trans people has been homeless in their lives, and 70% of trans people who have used a shelter have experienced harassment.

We've got one more chance to stop it. This attempt to erase protections for trans people has to be subject to public comment for 60 days, giving us an opportunity to show broad opposition.

Your comment, as you provide it below, will be submitted to the Department of Health & Human Services prior to the conclusion of the comment period. Thank you for speaking up for trans equality.
