It’s happening again. The extremists are targeting transgender youth. This time, right here in Tennessee. They want to ban hard-working students from participating in sports simply because of who they are.

Being a kid is hard enough. We should be making it easier, not harder. These bills are unfair and would harm trans youth. We will fight for every single one of Tennessee’s young people because they deserve respect and dignity like anyone else.

The time to act is NOW - let your legislators know that they must reject these discriminatory bills that would harm vulnerable trans youth.

Kids learn a lot of important lessons at school and in sports: leadership, confidence, self-discipline, self-respect, and what it means to be part of a team. HB 2316 would silence and force a vulnerable group of young people in Tennessee onto the sidelines. For transgender youth, many of whom experience high rates of depression and suicidality, access to sports and school activities can be lifesaving.
